Privacy Policy

01 Who is responsible

This Policy applies to the LearnVela website at learnvela.in. LearnVela is solely owned and created by Divyansh Bamel. For the data described here, LearnVela decides why and how it is used, except where a third-party service acts under its own policy (for example Google sign-in or Razorpay checkout).

Read this together with the Terms of Service. This Policy is not legal advice.

02 What LearnVela processes

Depending on how you use the product, LearnVela may process:

• Account information if you sign in: display name, email, account id, sign-in method, and session information. This is stored with Supabase.
• Learning progress: quiz attempts, scores, chapters and concepts tested, revision activity, and streak information used to personalise study tools.
• Study inputs: questions you type, selected subject or chapter, quiz answers, and text extracted from an image when you use that feature.
• Support messages: category, subject, message, and email if you send a ticket or write to support@learnvela.in.
• Technical information that hosting and security systems may see, such as IP address, timestamps, browser information, and error logs.
• Payment metadata if you buy Pro: Razorpay customer, payment, and subscription identifiers, not card numbers or UPI PINs.

LearnVela is not designed to collect payment-card details, Aadhaar, government IDs, precise location, or health information. Please do not put those in a study question.

03 Guest mode and browser storage

You can use quizzes, revision notes, and progress as a guest. Guest progress can live in local browser storage on that device. It is not written to LearnVela's cloud progress database.

Guest progress may not follow you to another phone, laptop, browser, or profile. Clearing site data, using private browsing, or switching devices can remove it. Anyone who can open the same browser profile may be able to see that local progress.

Theme preference and Ask-a-Doubt drafts may also be stored locally so the page is usable after a refresh.

04 Signed-in accounts and Supabase

If you create or use an account, authentication and cloud progress use Supabase. LearnVela uses the verified account id to keep each learner's progress separate. Signed-in progress is stored in a protected database row for that account and may also be cached on the device so the page still works during a short network blip.

You can reset quiz history from Progress, download a JSON copy of the progress shown on that page, and erase the signed-in cloud progress row. Guest progress stays in the browser. If you want an account removed, email support@learnvela.in.

In administrative views, learner emails are masked by default (for example Learner • A1B2C3) unless an authorised owner or admin reveals an identity for a recorded reason.

05 Fast AI and cloud providers

Fast AI is the signed-in Ask a Doubt mode. It first tries Cerebras, then Groq if Cerebras is unavailable. To generate an answer, LearnVela sends the question you typed (and compact recent follow-up context) plus the strongest retrieved textbook excerpts to that cloud provider.

Do not include personal information in a Fast AI question unless it is genuinely necessary. Failed or invalid generations do not consume a successful daily use.

Free accounts currently get 3 successful Fast AI answers per UTC day. LearnVela Pro is ₹149/month and currently allows 100 successful answers per UTC day. Daily limits are enforced on the server for the signed-in account.

06 Image questions

When you attach a supported PNG, JPG, or WebP image, the current web feature tries to read visible text in your browser. In that flow the image is previewed locally and is not uploaded to LearnVela's server. Detected text is placed in the question field for you to review before you send it.

If the browser cannot extract text, type the question yourself. Text you then submit is processed like any other Ask a Doubt query.

07 Count-only telemetry

LearnVela records a small set of product counts so we can see whether guests start a session, start or finish a quiz, or whether Fast AI succeeded, failed, or hit a quota. Those events store an event name, time, guest-or-signed-in flag, and optional numbers such as score/total or token counts when a provider already returned them.

Telemetry does not store question text, answers, emails, or names. It is not advertising tracking.

08 Textbook index and official PDFs

LearnVela stores extracted textbook chunks in an on-service index (ncert-corpus.json) and generates answers, revision notes, and quizzes from that index. It live-checks and links official chapter PDFs on ncert.nic.in. It does not ship, email, or download those PDFs to you.

LearnVela does not have written NCERT permission. The public NCERT ePathshala e-content terms we have seen do not allow monetary consideration, commercial use, or financial benefit, and they do not allow adapting, translating, altering, summarising, or deriving from that content without written permission. This Policy does not claim a licence, partnership, or school exemption. See the Terms of Service.

09 Why this information is used

• to run guest study tools and signed-in accounts;
• to retrieve textbook excerpts and generate notes, quizzes, and Fast AI answers;
• to save, sync, or reset learning progress;
• to enforce Fast AI daily limits and Pro entitlements;
• to process support tickets and billing questions;
• to keep the service secure and debug outages; and
• to meet legal obligations when they apply.

10 Providers and payments

Depending on the feature, relevant providers may include Supabase (accounts and progress), Cerebras and Groq (Fast AI), Razorpay (Pro checkout), Google (optional sign-in), Vercel or other hosting, and Wikimedia/Wikipedia for labelled outside-textbook lookups.

If you subscribe to Pro, Razorpay processes the payment on its checkout. LearnVela stores only the metadata needed to turn Pro on, help with support, and reconcile a payment, not full card numbers or UPI PINs. Refunds are described in the Cancellation & Refund Policy.

LearnVela does not sell personal data and does not use learner data for targeted advertising.

11 Children and DPDP 2023

Under India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, a child is anyone under 18. LearnVela is built for Grade 9, so typical users are children. DPDP requires verifiable parental or guardian consent before processing a child's personal data. Tracking, behavioural monitoring, and targeted advertising directed at children are restricted. School-related exemptions do not cover a commercial study app such as LearnVela.

LearnVela operates a parental-consent gate for signed-in Class 9 accounts. On signup or the first signed-in session, the learner chooses under-18 or 18+, and under-18 accounts must provide a parent or guardian email. Cloud progress sync and Fast AI stay blocked until that guardian opens a one-time confirmation link. Guest quizzes, notes, and on-device progress stay fully usable with no identity collection. We do not collect date of birth, Aadhaar, government IDs, or DigiLocker credentials. Clicking the email link records consent for this product; it is not a government-ID check and is not certified DPDP compliance.

LearnVela does not run targeted ads and does not sell personal data. Product telemetry is count-only (event name and numbers, not question text). If you are a parent or guardian and want data corrected or deleted, email support@learnvela.in.

12 How long information is kept

Guest progress stays in the browser until it is cleared or overwritten. Signed-in account and progress data may be kept while the account is used and for as long as reasonably needed to run the service, handle a dispute, or meet a legal duty.

Support tickets and payment metadata may be kept long enough to answer the request and keep a billing record. We do not promise a specific automated deletion clock for every log.

13 Security

LearnVela uses HTTPS, per-user database row-level security for signed-in progress, and private API cache headers on learning routes. No internet service is perfectly secure. Protect your own password and device.

Elevated admin tools are limited to owner/admin roles. A second authentication factor is recorded when present; it is not currently required just to open the admin panel.

14 Your choices

You can keep using LearnVela as a guest and clear site data in the browser. You can export progress JSON and reset quiz history from Progress. Signed-in learners can erase the cloud progress copy from that page. You can stop using an account and ask us to delete eligible account data by writing to support@learnvela.in.

Subject to applicable law and a reasonable identity check, you may ask what personal data is associated with your account, ask for a correction, or raise a privacy grievance at the same address.

15 International infrastructure

Some providers may process information outside India. LearnVela uses them only to operate the product and will follow cross-border rules as they apply.
